Sex And The City

Director: Michael Patrick King
Cast: Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon
Rated: 18
143 minutes

This is one of those movies that really don’t need to be reviewed. I could either say it was great or horrible or passable and it doesn’t matter because if you’re one of the millions who loved the show you’ll be one of the millions to go see this movie.

I was actually shocked to hear most men don’t like the show. I’ve seen some absolute rubbish that guys have sat through just to see a nipple and here was a show that was actually very clever and there were nipples everywhere.

So sure, Sex and the City was a HBO acclaimed series but how does it measure up on the big screen? Just fine. It won’t win any new fans or disappoint any existing ones so it will make gargantuan buckets of cash and give ladies the blockbuster they want.

In essence, at two and a half hours, this is a five episode marathon. The four ladies are back in their respective roles and it leaves off right where the series ended. There are no plot twists you can’t see coming a mile away and there are no surprises. One pet peeve is when a film revolves around one character being stupid and lying to another. Well Miranda does just that and it ticks me off. Thankfully Samantha (Yeah Canada’s hottest, funniest nymphomaniac!) is back in fine form for all to enjoy.

This is a great movie to encourage people to grab their girlfriends and go out for a drink and a movie. Enjoy.
