Disappointed with the previous Hulk? Try new and improved Hulk. Now with more green!

Alright, first off what we have here is a movie about the Hulk. For those still excited to go see it, that is exactly what you get. To anyone who expects more one need only listen to talk leaving the theatre where people are quick to say “Well what did you expect? It’s the Incredible Hulk.”

For some reason the last version of The Incredible Hulk seems to have received a bad rap. I mean seriously, it’s a Hulk movie. That means two things. One, a humongous green monster will be smashing things up good while being pelted by a million bullets. Two, a quiet, pensive scientist will wrestle with his inner daemon.  The later of course will involve much introspection and searching for the cure.

This movie, like the predecessor has both trademark Hulk elements of big green smashing and introspection. It also has a love story thrown in for the dates that were dragged to the movie.

Alas, where Ang Lee’s infamous incarnation irked many, at least he tried to make it exciting. Here we have a no bells or whistles version with lots of twiddling thumbs while the actors seem to be killing time until there is more smashing. Of course Edward Norton and Tim Roth are nothing but top notch, but as I said, in the end you are dealing with a Hulk movie.

Those expecting a great comic book movie should wait for Batman or Hellboy.
